Officers Capture 4 Charlotte Men With 240 Gallons Federal revenue agents made a big haul In the Windy Gap sec tion of Wilkes county Thursday night when they captured four men and confiscated two heavily laden liquor cars. The men, who gave their ad dress as Charlotte, were N. Link Hill, Cha.-lle C. Stewart, R. B. Yates and J. D. Reams. Follow ing a preliminary hearing before J. W. Dula, United States com missioner, they were placed In Wilkes jail in default of bonds. The car occupied by Hill and Stewart was equipped with a smoke screen and their bonds were set at $5,000 each. Bonds for Yates and Reams were fixed at $1,000 each. One car was carrying a cargo of 180 gallons of illicit liquor packed In cases of half gallon fruit jars. The other car was more moderately laden with 60 gallons. The officers 'were reported to have made the capture of the two cars without much difficulty, trapping them on the Windy Gap road.
